We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent project in Makoko, Lagos, where Be Girl and YEDI joined forces to empower 71 adolescents with essential knowledge about menstruation and sustainable practices using reusable pads.
Project Highlights:
Educating Girls: 46 girls received comprehensive information on menstrual health, hygiene, and the benefits of reusable pads.
Sustainable Hygiene: Each girl was provided with free reusable pants and towels, promoting environmentally friendly menstrual practices.
Boys as Allies: 25 boys were also educated on menstrual health to foster understanding and support for their female peers.
Why This Matters:
Breaking Stigmas: By educating both girls and boys, we are challenging societal stigmas around menstruation and promoting gender equality.
Empowering Communities: Providing these resources ensures that young girls can manage their periods with dignity and confidence, while boys become supportive allies.
Sustainable Future: Reusable pads not only promote hygiene but also reduce waste, contributing to a healthier environment.
Support the Cause: Spread the word about the importance of menstrual health education and sustainable practices.
